• High Schools

The CONNECTIONS made in high school between faculty and students is the FOUNDATION for an environment that supports student mental health in the most effective way.

There are times when teachers could be the first to notice a change in one of their students relating to their mental health. It is critical for the high school environment to be one in which communication is comfortable and easy so that students can open up and speak to an adult who can help.

Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA is striving to create this environment.

“We will focus on enhancing adult-student connections, supporting excellence in advising, deep listening, and meaningful engaging in difficult conversations with students. We know that student success and fulfillment stem from a foundation of student well-being, and as an institution with a history of strong relationships among students and teachers and proud of its warm and close community, we are well-positioned to move this important work forward.”

~ Chris Fortunato, Thayer Academy Head of School
